A Major Leap Forward for Courtroom Technology
After months of development and feedback from courts across the country, we're excited to announce RevoText 2.0 — the most significant update to our platform since launch.
Revo 2.0 was built around one simple idea: court reporters, attorneys, and judges shouldn't have to wrestle with technology during proceedings. Every enhancement in this release is designed to make your courtroom workflow smoother, faster, and more reliable.
What's New
Redesigned Video Layouts — We've completely overhauled the video grid to give participants more flexibility. Choose from gallery view, speaker-focused view, or a custom layout that puts the judge, witness, and reporter front and center. Video feeds now adapt dynamically based on who is speaking.
Enhanced Note-Taking — Attorneys and judges can now take timestamped notes directly within the platform during proceedings. Notes are synced to the transcript timeline, making post-proceeding review faster and more precise.
Improved Exhibit Handling — Exhibits now load faster with our new pre-caching system. Drag-and-drop uploading, batch stamping, and side-by-side comparison views make managing digital evidence seamless.
New Courtroom Deployment Tools — For courts rolling out RevoText across multiple courtrooms, our new deployment dashboard lets administrators configure settings, manage user roles, and monitor system health from a single screen.
Performance Upgrades — Under the hood, we've reduced video latency by 40%, improved audio clarity in low-bandwidth environments, and added automatic failover to backup servers for uninterrupted proceedings.
What This Means for Your Court
Revo 2.0 means fewer technical interruptions, faster proceedings, and a better experience for every participant — whether they're in the courtroom or joining remotely. Courts already running RevoText will be automatically upgraded at no additional cost.

Security Best Practices for Remote Proceedings
· Security

Protecting the Record in a Virtual World
Remote court proceedings have become a permanent fixture of the modern judicial system. But with that shift comes a critical question: how do you ensure the security and integrity of the official record when participants are joining from homes, offices, and mobile devices?
At RevoText, security isn't an afterthought — it's the foundation everything else is built on. Here are the key practices we follow and recommend for any court conducting remote proceedings.
End-to-End Encryption
Every RevoText session uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2/1.3 in transit. This means audio, video, transcripts, and exhibits are encrypted from the moment they leave a participant's device until they reach their destination. No third party — including RevoText — can intercept or read the data in transit.
Role-Based Access Controls
Not everyone in a proceeding needs access to the same information. RevoText uses role-based permissions so judges, attorneys, reporters, and witnesses each see only what's relevant to their role. Exhibit access, recording controls, and transcript visibility can all be configured per participant.
Secure Session Links
Each proceeding generates a unique, time-limited secure link. Links expire after the session ends and cannot be reused. There are no standing meeting rooms or reusable codes that could be shared or compromised.
Infrastructure Redundancy
RevoText runs on geographically distributed cloud infrastructure with automatic failover. If one server experiences an issue, the session seamlessly transfers to a backup — with zero interruption to the proceeding and no loss of the record.
Compliance
Our platform is designed to meet the security requirements of state and federal courts, including compliance with judicial security guidelines and data retention policies. We work directly with court administrators to ensure our configuration meets their specific requirements.
Security in remote proceedings is not optional. It's what separates a professional courtroom platform from a general-purpose video call. Contact us to learn more about how RevoText protects your proceedings.
The Future of Hybrid Courtrooms
· Industry

Blending In-Person and Remote for Better Access to Justice
The pandemic forced courts to go remote almost overnight. Now, years later, the question isn't whether remote proceedings will continue — it's how courts can build sustainable hybrid models that serve everyone better.
Hybrid courtrooms combine the formality and presence of in-person proceedings with the accessibility and efficiency of remote participation. A judge may be on the bench, the court reporter in the courtroom, while a witness testifies from another state and an attorney appears from their office. When it works well, it's seamless for everyone involved.
Why Courts Are Going Hybrid
Access to justice is the primary driver. Witnesses who can't travel, attorneys in rural areas, and parties with disabilities all benefit from the option to appear remotely. Courts that offer hybrid proceedings see higher appearance rates and fewer continuances due to scheduling conflicts.
Court reporter coverage is another major factor. With a nationwide shortage of licensed court reporters, hybrid technology allows reporters to cover proceedings remotely — expanding their reach without requiring physical presence in every courtroom.
Operational efficiency rounds out the case. Courts report that hybrid proceedings reduce wasted docket time, speed up case resolution, and lower costs associated with transportation, accommodation, and facility overhead.
What Makes Hybrid Work
The technology has to be invisible. If participants are struggling with connections, can't see exhibits, or the audio keeps cutting out, the proceeding suffers. Purpose-built courtroom platforms like RevoText are designed to handle these challenges — adaptive video, integrated exhibits, real-time transcripts, and encrypted security all in one window.
The future courtroom isn't fully remote or fully in-person. It's hybrid — and courts that invest in the right technology now will be best positioned to serve their communities for years to come.
How ScriptSync Supports Reporters
· Technology

A Confidence Monitor Built for the Working Reporter
Court reporters are the backbone of the official record. They work under intense pressure — capturing every word in real time during proceedings that can last hours. ScriptSync was built specifically to support them.
What Is ScriptSync?
ScriptSync is RevoText's advanced capture and confidence monitoring system. It runs alongside the court reporter's stenographic software, providing a real-time backup and quality check that gives reporters and courts confidence in the accuracy of the record.
Multi-Channel Recording
ScriptSync captures audio from each participant on separate channels. This means if two people talk at the same time — which happens frequently in depositions and hearings — the reporter can isolate each speaker during review. No more guessing who said what.
Confidence Scoring
As the proceeding unfolds, ScriptSync continuously monitors audio quality and capture confidence. If background noise increases, a participant's connection degrades, or audio drops below quality thresholds, the system flags it in real time. Reporters and proceeding managers can address issues before they become gaps in the record.
Automatic Backup
Every ScriptSync session includes automatic redundant recording. If a reporter's local equipment fails — a computer crashes, software freezes, or a power outage occurs — the cloud backup ensures not a single word is lost. This safety net gives reporters peace of mind and courts confidence in the integrity of their proceedings.
Built for Reporters, Not Against Them
ScriptSync is not a replacement for court reporters. It's a tool designed to make their jobs easier and their work more reliable. Licensed, professional reporters remain at the center of every RevoText proceeding. ScriptSync simply gives them better tools to do what they do best.
Deploying RevoText Across Colorado Courts
· Case Study

A Multi-Courtroom Rollout From Planning to Production
When a Colorado judicial district decided to modernize their courtroom technology, they needed a solution that could scale across multiple courtrooms, integrate with their existing infrastructure, and be simple enough for judges and staff to use without extensive training.
The Challenge
The district operated courtrooms across several facilities. Each had different audio/video setups, varying network capabilities, and staff with different levels of technical comfort. Previous attempts to implement video conferencing using general-purpose tools like Zoom had resulted in inconsistent quality, security concerns, and frustrated participants.
The Approach
RevoText worked directly with the court administrator to survey each courtroom, assess network infrastructure, and design a phased rollout plan. We started with two courtrooms as a pilot, trained staff on-site, and refined our configuration based on real-world feedback before expanding to the remaining facilities.
Key elements of the deployment included:
The Results
Within 60 days, all courtrooms were fully operational on RevoText. The court reported a significant reduction in technical disruptions, faster proceeding start times, and positive feedback from attorneys and remote participants. Court reporters noted that the integrated platform eliminated the need to manage separate video and transcription tools.
The district has since expanded their use of RevoText to include remote witness testimony and hybrid proceedings for civil cases.
Remote Witness Testimony: A New Standard
· Remote

Why Courts Are Embracing Remote Witnesses
Getting a witness to physically appear in court has always been one of the biggest logistical challenges in the legal system. Travel costs, scheduling conflicts, medical conditions, geographic distance, and safety concerns can all prevent a witness from appearing — delaying proceedings and driving up costs for everyone involved.
Remote witness testimony solves these problems. And when it's done right, it's just as effective as having the witness in the room.
The Case for One Integrated Platform
Many courts have tried using general-purpose video tools like Zoom or WebEx for remote testimony. While these tools work for basic video calls, they weren't designed for legal proceedings. Courts end up juggling one tool for video, another for exhibits, another for the transcript, and hoping everything works together.
RevoText eliminates that complexity. Video, exhibits, real-time transcripts, and recording all live in one window. The court reporter, judge, attorneys, and witness all share the same platform — with role-appropriate access and controls built in.
Simple for the Witness
The witness receives a single secure link. They click it from any device — phone, tablet, or computer — and they're in. No downloads, no account creation, no technical setup. The link is unique to that proceeding and expires when the session ends.
This simplicity matters. Witnesses are often not tech-savvy, may be nervous about testifying, and shouldn't have to worry about whether their software is up to date. RevoText removes every barrier between the witness and the courtroom.
Secure and On the Record
Every remote witness session is encrypted end-to-end, recorded with multi-channel audio, and integrated with the court reporter's real-time transcript. The official record is complete and secure — no different than if the witness had appeared in person.
Remote witness testimony isn't a workaround anymore. It's becoming the standard. Courts that adopt purpose-built technology for it today will be better equipped to handle the demands of tomorrow's docket.

How RevoText is keeping courtrooms running when qualified reporters are in short supply.
The Crisis Facing America's Courts
Courts across the country are facing an unprecedented shortage of qualified court reporters. With an aging workforce, fewer graduates entering the profession, and increasing caseloads, many jurisdictions are struggling to keep their dockets moving.
According to the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the profession could face a shortage of thousands of reporters over the coming decade. The impact is already being felt — proceedings are delayed, hearings are rescheduled, and access to justice suffers.
